This is a picture of Martin Luther, the man who began the reformation period and who later in life admitted his actions against the Catholic Church were wrong.

Lutheranism was the first Protestant church to split from the Catholic Church during the Reformation period. This sect of Christianity was created by Martin Luther in 1517. Its views are similar to Catholicism excepting its views on the priesthood and the authority of the pope, to name just a few.
